Taiwan reaffirms the strength of its trade relations with the Philippines, in its fourth annual Taiwan Excellence campaign.

Sponsored by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), and organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), this campaign promotes Taiwan’s leading brands which have earned the Taiwan Excellence seal.

Many of these high-grade products are already well-received by the local market and part and parcel of the everyday lives of Filipino families. ACER, ASUS and MSI are popular choices for smartphones and laptops, while leading exercise equipment brand Johnson Fitness has gained ground over the years.

This year, the 2017 Taiwan Excellence campaign will feature more than 150 products from 52 accredited brands. TAITRA has expanded their events to further highlight the innovation, reliability, and durability of these brands, which continue to empower consumers toward leading more convenient and enhanced lifestyles.

The exhibition promises to bring a new layer of fun for visitors, offering something for everyone. As the leading investor in the hospitality sector in Thailand, The Erawan Group currently operates 41 hotels there, with a total inventory of 6,000-rooms.

“Next year, it’s going to be 50 hotels, including two in the Philippines,” Wipulakorn bared,
referring to the P200 million-worth Ermita property and the 190-room Makati branch, the latter now under construction in preparation for opening in September 2017.

Others in the pipeline include the ones building up in Aseana in Pasay City and Alabang in Muntinlupa––both scheduled for inaugural in the first quarter of 2018. The Group is also looking at Quezon City, Chinatown, and Cubao in Metro Manila, as well as Cebu and Davao in the Visayas and Mindanao regions as potential sites for its Hop Inn brand.
Beyond giving a boost to the national economy and local hospitality industry, The Erawan’s expansion program is expected to create more direct and indirect employment opportunities for Filipinos.

“We have created jobs with our ongoing construction already. We will set up an operation team in the next few months and the plan is to hire local staff as many as possible as they would understand customers’ requirement and respond well to market,” Wipulakorn said.

Impressed by the positive turnout of the guests, following the official opening of the flagship Hop Inn outlet in Manila, the Group has already identified their captive market in the Philippines.

“In Thailand, 85 percent of our guests are international. But we have a very good domestic market as well. So about 15 percent would go to domestic. But I think over here will be more domestic, maybe 85 percent. So we expect more business travellers here more than leisure guests,” she pointed out.
Bullish on their first venture overseas, Wipulakorn revealed that they intend to double their target number of hotels in the next 10 years.

“We also look at maybe investments into the midscale or four-star category in the Philippines,” she stressed. “I hope that we bring a good quality product for the Philippine market and that we get a good response. We also want to be part of the community here.”

Here is the latest Honda CBR150R by Honda Philippines

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) is bringing the thrill of racing to the country as it unveils today its newest Honda Gen S sports motorcycle model – the all-new Honda CBR150R.

 

HPI is giving the local market the chance to experience the speed and power of its latest racing machine, to meet the demand of Filipino riders for a high-quality sports bike.

 

The all-new Honda CBR150R sports an aggressive design. Its dual keen eye headlight exemplifies its sleek and sporty exterior along with its side cowl, rear side cowl, and new stylish muffler.

 

Inspired by MotoGP DNA, the all-new Honda CBR150R is equipped with a 150cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC – 4 valve engine that delivers up to 12.6kW/ 9,000rpm max power and 13.0 Nm/7,500 rpm max power of torque. Thanks to PGM-FI fuel supply system, which complies with EURO3 emission standard, the all-new Honda CBR150R’s engine is fuel-efficient and environment-friendly.

 

This model is also built with an innovative truss frame, which is designed to support the engine, maximize performance of Pro-Link suspension system, and optimally reduce engine vibration, resulting in stability, agility and riding comfort.

 

The all-new Honda CBR150R is also equipped with double disc-brake, digital meter panel with integrated information (speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel meter, clock, and engine temperature), new aluminum rear foot step, and secure key shutter.
