Held on August 26 at the Magsaysay Institute for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA), the Great Dole Cook-Off was an experience to see delectable dishes preparing in your own eyes.
Dole held the Great Dole Cook-Off that launched the brand’s line of tomato sauces through an exciting cook-off among guests.
Chef Jeremy taught and prepared easy-to-cook succulent culinary delights with Dole’s line of tomato sauces with a cooking demo.
After the cooking demo, it was time for the guests battling out their cooking skills. Contestants were able to try the dish – Cherry Tomato and Ragu Penne as tomato sauce was the theme ingredient.
Chef Jeremy has a hard time judging this culinary clash but in the end there will be reigning one winner who got the most watering taste dish.
Overall, the Great Dole Cook-Off got the time to learn and taste healthy yet gastronomic dishes. Again, thank you Dole!
The Commission on Filipinos Overseas, Duty Free Philippines, Good News Pilipinas and Kraft Asia and Toblerone are stepping up to the challenge by announcing the opening of nominations for the first Thank You Global Pinoy Awards.
The Thank You Global Pinoy Awards is an initiative that seeks to search for the most outstanding global Filipino workers who deserve the gratitude not only of their loved ones; but also of the nation as a whole. It is primarily led by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)—the government agency tasked to promote and uphold the interests of Filipino emigrants and permanent residents abroad and Toblerone as the key proponent of Thank You Day in 2007.
We are glad to personally witness the said Global Pinoy Award project last August 26 at Duty Free Philippines as a support for the noble cause to our overseas Filipino worker.

A purely below-the-line initiative, the Thank You Global Pinoy Awards will invite nominations of outstanding overseas Filipino workers who deserve to be thanked.

On August 25, 2011, I have attended the The Great Night Market at Venice Piazza Mckinley Hill The Fort to try the culinary genius of over 50 budding food businesses.
Anyway, these were the food I can recommend:
There is Brazo Bars with their very own Brazo de Mercedes and Chocolate Cookies
Available also were assorted desserts from MedChef.
Fried dishes like chicharon bulaklak, chickens and dipped crunchy bacon sliced pork to hopped in.
One can also found isaw as the famous street food while roaming around.
This is Korea’s most famous dish Bibimbap from K-Bop Dinner.
There were also tacos to share.
Fruitas also has this famous buko halo-halo.
Even all the resto were close, employees and folks nearby can celebrate amazing food with abundance at The Great Night Market from 10:00pm to 4:00am from Mondays to Thursdays.
This time, one can enjoy the festive atmosphere of “Baratillo” at night in the sophisticated open grounds of Venice Piazza by Megaworld.
We were fortunate enough to witness SM Hypermart Master Chef Tour 2011 at SM Sucat last August 16 with Chef Jonathan Chua as the guest chef.
My entry picture is a twist of hotdog sandwich which the Chef called Cheesy Hotdog and Fries Sandwich Overload drizzled with Magnolia Cheese Spread at top – different way to serve merienda with the kids.
Another dish is the Chicken and Mushroom Baked Rice top with fried chicken fingers on top of the rice with condensed cream of mushroom baked with grated cheese.
For the dessert, Chef Jonathan prepared Peaches and Cream Caramel Triple. The cake is a layer of chiffon with a spread of caramel topped with whipped cream, nuts and slices of peaches.
After the cooking demo, Magnolia products were raffled out with the audience to get them a chance to try the dishes at home.

Below is a a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course program that aims to empower laypersons to be well informed and skilled on the importance of how to perform CPR.
Some fast tips to remember in saving lives:
- Tap and shout
- Yell for help and send someone to phone
- Look for no breathing or only gasping
- Push hard and fast. Give 30 compressions
- Open the airway and give 2 breaths
- Repeat sets of 30 compressions and 2 breaths
- When the AED arrives, turn it on and follow the prompts

Its a great feeling that I have attended Teleserv Event at Gateway introducing their services. But what captured my attention was the renewing of passport via online.
