The Makati Tourism Foundation, Inc. (MTFI) launched its first ever HoReCa Makati Festival 2014 with the theme “Finest Footprint at its FIRST.” The objective is to attract more local and foreign tourists and draw business travelers further to Makati City.
“We wish to introduce to the general public the sector of HoReCa or Hotel Restaurant Café / Catering considered to be one of the fastest-growing touristic sectors in Europe and the Middle East. HoReCa is concentrated specifically on hotels, restos, cafes and catering companies because they are believed to be a pump-primer to propel economic growth due to high-rate employment especially in exhibitions that attribute high success rates in marketing and revenue generation of participating exhibitors. Hence, we trust that a similar principle is adoptable with the current market conditions in Makati,” Triccia Dacer, Chairperson and Main Proponent of HoReCa Makati Festival 2014 said.
According to Dacer, they expect the public to be able to sip the finest coffees, savor the historical moment with the unravelling of great festive mood toned by the hotel-ambiance music and get swooned by roundtable discussions amongst industry leaders, practitioners and thought leaders and the best deal and promotional offers of the participating HoReCa exhibitors.
Dacer further explained that the MTFI is motivated by its advocacy for HoReCa Festival to be a small step but with big impact in promoting Makati city as the “Business Tourism Hub of the Philippines.” “We want the public to know that doing business is not the only enterprising element found in Makati, in fact we want also to emphasize that business men, business travellers and tourists (local and foreign alike) are also attracted by Makati’s recreational venues for family bonding like parks, old symbolic churches and other cultural heritage spots that veer towards the traditional Filipino way of family bonding and away from the technologically-driven culture of today.”
Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism has expressed its support to ensure success of the Makati Tourism advocacy where partnership is underway.
The launching of HoReCa Makati Festival 2014 will be held on September 15 and 16 at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center. The festivity will be showcasing tourism-related presentation, latest trends in booth dressing among the participating HoReCas, discussion & forum and lots of arts and entertainment production while the public expects HoReCa best promo deals & offers and freebies from the exhibitors. The event will be attended by foreign diplomats, industry practitioners, academe, high-profile business and government figures and other stakeholders.
