You can now reserve a seat online at the NIU by Vikings through their Facebook page, website or ResDiary smartphone application.
It was weekend after wifey’s birthday as we attended the Blogpolis seminar of Nuffnang. It was an abrupt invite and we took advantage of it for us to be keen on what’s new in Social Media.
As we were about to go home, again an unexpected request to cover ResDiary launching at NIU by Vikings in SM Aura Premier came along.
Who will not refuse nor turn down such an invitation especially if we will be dining out in a renowned finest buffet in town? I have already visited Vikings in other branches and this would be my first time with NIU.
NIU by Vikings and Govago’s ResDiary introduced the first complete online booking system that allows restaurants to get closer to their diners and manage tables more effectively.
Very easy application.
From NIU website and Facebook page, just click Book Now / Reserve Now as this would redirect you to ResDiary Reservation System.
Choose your date and click Book Here tab.
Click the time you will dine in.
Enter all the information like Name, Email Address and Contact No. After all done, check the confirmation on your email address.
During the presentation, Ng said ResDiary is looking to change the old-fashioned way of getting reservations making managing restaurant much easier for both the customer and NIU by Vikings.
“Our goal is to digitize the restaurant industry and allow them to be connected online.”
If a restaurant is managing all their reservations through an online diary whether from their website or social media or mobile device, they can instantly and in real-time check availability.
“ResDiary manages the entire reservation process for you. It’s connecting the entire consumer journey to allow them to book at a time that fits them and in a manner that suits them, but most importantly it allows restaurants to yield manage and maximize their bookings.”
Part of the presentation, we were also oriented on the name NIU.
According to NIU Marketing Head Charles Stewart Lee, “NIU” means nine in the Viking language and is a significant number in Norse mythology.
NIU interestingly has nine different stations with a variety of meals ranging from Japanese, Chinese, Pan Asian, Grill, Carving and Pastry to name a few.
Sharing to you my food trip around to check some of those nine food stations during the launch of ResDiary application.
Pastry / Cake Station
Wine / Drinks Station
Chinese / Japanese Station
Carving Station
Pan-Asia Station
Some of the food we requested for cooking served to us personally. One can also request the services of the waiters around if for example you asked them for a specific servings that you found when you go around.
Following were some of the food requests that served hot and even beautifully arranged.
Since it was a post-birthday treat for wifey, a cake ready for a blow was given to her which made her smile more – a some sort of extending the celebration as she also enjoyed her food selection like seafood and sushi.
With the newly launched partnership between NIU and Resdiary, this will allow floor staff to more efficiently manage tables with the help of a table graphic, while also sharing information about their customers’ dining preferences.
“With ResDiary, there will be a bunch of features that NIU will immediately get access to,” said Ng. One of the features is the booking widget that can be added to the restaurant’s website, Facebook page and twitter account.
“That will mean that when a customer’s calling, the restaurant instantly has the full background knowledge of the customer. They’ll know that this person has been in the restaurant three times in the past twelve months; they’ll know that she prefers a bottle of red and her favorite table is table 10. So hotels have done this brilliantly; you start to get access to a way to deliver a better customer experience.”
Overall, with the landmark partnership, Resdiary will allow NIU to more efficiently accommodate customers, manage its reservations and maximize engagement with its diners resulting to only satisfied customers.
We are glad we witness such tie-up making customers be delighted with their restaurant experience especially with NIU by Vikings.
Our congratulations and hoping ResDiary in the Philippines will expand more to other local restaurants.
