Banzai is the biggest Japanese Teppanyaki buffet restaurant with an area of 1,200 square meters and a maximum 300 seating capacity located at the Bay Leisure Park of SM Mall of Asia (MOA).
Have asked my wife about eating in Teppanyaki, how it is different with other buffet restaurant. I admit that she is more of a foodie expert than me because she cooks / experiment on food and generally research about restaurants whenever we dine out.
According to her, Teppanyaki is a stationed table style that use iron griddle in cooking food wherein cuisine is prepared in front of the guests. Usually, it has 12 different food stations.
Yes, she is right as I went to different stations where the cook prepared the food requested the Japanese way and they will bring the food to your table.
Unlike with other buffet restaurant which has those warming dishes around where one can just pick it up, most of the food are freshly cooked based on your preferences.
Through the use of those iron plates around the station, we feasted to variety of steaks, shrimps, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and monjayaki. Garden fresh salad and soups are also visible to start your meal. Ramen is also available where one can pick each content to savor those noodles.
One can never go wrong on how they cook it since there are two in-house Japanese chefs around.
Sushis, maki and sashimi will never be out of those table getting also to pick up one by one. Best part, they always refill those stations every now and then.
Overall, the Japanese cuisine that I experience with Banzai can mean two words for me – authentic and unlimited.
Congratulations to chefs, staffs and management of Banzai for bringing “Little Tokyo” gastronomic Japanese buffet experience at the heart of Metro Manila. All of them are accommodating and friendly ready to serve us.
With all the freshness and goodness of each dish, I can say that the price is also affordable compare to other buffet restaurant we visited before.
