Pet parents and their furry friends enjoyed a fun evening complete with delightful buffet and unique attractions at the fundraising dinner organized by Bow & Wow and CARA Welfare Philippines.

Last Saturday,  April 23, together with family and pets, we attended a benefit dinner held at  Robinsons Magnolia Garden which was transformed into an elegant dinner area.

The space for pups of different sizes and breeds interact and roam around to experience attractions like furbabies’ pawprint keepsakes, a caricature station, a table where pet parents  and design-your-own cupcakes.

There was also a wide array of all-natural treats at the pet buffet table from Bow & Wow and ALL4PETSParty, offering eating fun to different fur babies.

The evening program was emceed by celebrity animal advocates Tim Yap and Tessa Prieto-Valdes.

During the event, CARA Welfare Philippines highlighted its insight, its current activities that include the physical rescue and treatment of abused or abandoned animals, plus its main thrust of curbing animal overpopulation through spaying and neutering. CARA volunteers help place unwanted, abandoned and rescued pets into responsible forever homes.

CARA President Nancy Cu Unjieng enthused, “We are very pleased to bring together pet owners and their pets” through the Benefit Dinner this year. It is a good opportunity to instill greater awareness for animal welfare. Presented onstage were some of the Laguna Pitbulls brutalized by dog fighting and rehabilitated by CARA. Under CARA’s care, pit bulls like Brutus have regained their health and learned to trust anew.

Bow & Wow, the Philippines’ premier all-natural pet store for dogs and cats, ensured that both the canine guests and pet parents had an awesome time.

On the other hand, guests enjoyed nibbling on appetizers and sipping cocktails. The special human buffet was served by Gaita Fores’ Cibo di M.

Other event partners included Planet Grapes, Cat Café Manila, WhenInManila.com, Ogilvy Public Relations, and Robinsons Magnolia.

Special guest celebrity singer was Jona Viray, herself a dedicated animal rescuer and pet parent. Entertainment also included dance number by Polecats Manila.

This pet-friendly celebration raised a whopping P250,000 from ticket sales.

The check representing 100 percent of the event’s proceeds was turned over to CARA Welfare Philippines to sustain its animal rescue and lifesaving operations. Events like Bow & Wow’s Benefit Dinner are aim to effect change that would benefit abused and abandoned dogs & cats while awaiting forever homes.

Before the night was over, Bow & Wow announced special awards. Winning “Best Dressed Pet & Pet Parent” (Pawsome Twosome Award) were Melissa Bagamasbad and her Japanese Spitz-cum-Aspin Cow. Adjudged the “Most Congenial Pet & Pet Parent” (Wagging Tails Award) were Rhome Jervia Yu and her pets Pumpkin and Kai. Romping away with the award for “Most Photogenic Pet & Pet Parent” (Picture Pawfect Award) were Adrian Tolentino and Show Suzuki with their dogs Logan & Perry.
