Gatorade Run on November 27, 2016

The world’s number one sports drink, in partnership with Runrio, will once again hit the road for the second year of the Gatorade Run.

It will be held on November 27, 2016 at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The run will have two distances—11K and 22K.

More than 6,000 runners registered in last year’s run which featured hydration stations where participants got pre-race hydration drinks, a post-run hydration test area where runners instantly learned about their hydration status, and a warm-up area where free sessions were available for those who wanted a full-on warm up activity before and after the run. Gatorade ambassadors Jeron Teng, Jaja Santiago, Chris Banchero, Jett Manuel and Ara Galang were among those who were present to support the runners.

This year’s run promises to be more exciting, while still focusing on the importance of pre- and post-run hydration. Pepsico Marketing Manager for Hydration Tony Atayde said, “Gatorade is a global leader in sports performance and we’ll definitely bring that expertise to the run. Learning the benefits of proper hydration is crucial for runners and we look forward to reinforcing that message through the Gatorade Run.  We’re excited to show runners how, whether in sports hydration or a unique consumer experience, NOTHING BEATS GATORADE.”

Registration for the Gatorade Run 2016 will start on September 12. Log on to runrio.com for updates and to register.

The Guerilla Race team decided to bring the obstacle race to Corregidor not only for its race andobstacle worthy trails and route but more importantly, for its historical value in which theGuerillas fought the country’s freedom from its oppressors with their sweat, blood and future.Free the country or die trying. During the Japanese occupation of the islands in World War II,there was an extensive Philippine resistance movement, which opposed the Japanese withactive underground and guerrilla activity that increased over the years. Fighting the guerrillas –apart from the Japanese regular forces – were the Japanese-formed Bureau of Constabulary (latertaking the name of the old Philippine Constabulary during the Second Republic), Kempeitai (theJapanese military police), and the Makapili (Filipinos fighting for the Japanese). Post-war studiesestimate that around 260,000 persons were organized under guerrilla groups and that membersof anti-Japanese underground organizations were more numerous. Such was their effectivenessthat by the end of World War II, Japan controlled only twelve of the forty-eight provinces. The Battle of Corregidor, fought May 5–6, 1942, was the culmination of the Japanese campaignfor the conquest of the Commonwealth of the Philippines during World War II.

This year’s race is a two-day event set for runners, individual and team, of different distancecategories. The race is divided into four different categories: Day 1 is set for the runners for theGuerilla Sprint which is a 5 km with 12 obstacles waiting for them in the course and the GuerillaWarrior who will conquer the 10 km run with 24 obstacles to face. Honda Ushers Groundbreaking Liquid-Cooled 6-Speed Sports Engine on RS150

Honda Philippines, Inc. keeps on delivering breakthrough innovations in the local motorcycle industry with a variety of excellent product offerings that suit every Filipino’s need for everyday commuting.

Last year, it has launched four motorcycles that are both high on design, style, and functionalities, and also featured groundbreaking technologies that only Honda can deliver with superiority and class.

The newest product offering that has come off Honda Philippines’ assembly line is its new generation sports motorcycle known as the RS150, which was officially launched in November last year and is currently making its way to Honda dealerships all over the country.

More than its stylish and sporty looks, the RS150 has a major plus factor going for it that no competition can match at this point in time – it is powered by a new generation liquid-cooled, 150-CC, DOHC, six-speed sports engine.

The groundbreaking engine was borne out of Moto GP DNA, officially making it the latest iteration to the world-class racing engine suited for sports motorcycles. The new generation engine of the RS150 also comes with class-leading advance technology, giving its users additional advantages over other sports motorcycles.

Like the other motorcycles that were introduced by Honda Philippines to the Filipino market last year, the RS150 is brimming with excellent engine technology which is just beginning to catch on with the competition.

It features an intelligent and accurate programmable fuel injection (PGM-FI) which is capable of supplying the optimum fuel and air mixture in the combustion chamber for efficient engine power while ensuring low emission.

In fact, the motorcycle has been proven to comply with the stringent Euro 3 standards, which means that it has very negligible emission or effect to air pollution.

The sports motorcycle also has other features to complement its excellent engine performance including an O2 sensor, a catalytic converter, and a bank angle sensor.

The engine of the RS150 is also liquid-cooled with auto fan. It features an advanced radiator with electronic fan that automatically turns at a temperature of 103 degrees Celsius to prevent any form of overheating and maintain a consistent and safe operating temperature throughout the powertrain.

The RS150 is also the first motorcycle model under the Honda sports category and given its positive and warm reception from its initial owners and prospective buyers alike, it is certainly not going to be the last.

It is likely that the next exciting sports motorcycle models from Honda will be utilizing the same engine now being used on the RS150 while continuously building on the technology that the world’s No. 1 motorcycle manufacturer has been known to do.

In terms of other innovative technological features, the RS150 sports a futuristic digital meter panel to keep the driver informed of vital operational indicators. It also has sharp and sporty LED headlight to ensure brighter illumination especially at night. For security purpose and protection against theft, the RS150 also features an auto secure key shutter.

As far as its sporty, stylish, and functional design goes, the RS150 has a clip-on handle bar to support sporty driving style, stylish tail light, sporty cast wheel with tubeless tire, sporty pillion step, and sporty under cowl.

For added safety and protection of the driver, the RS150 features a twin perimeter frame to support engine performance and maneuverability even while driving at great speeds, a front and rear disc brake, and a rear monoshock for optimum shock absorption.

FWD Life encourages Filipinos to stay healthy and fit one move at a time

Can you really be healthy and fit by investing just four minutes of your day in exercise?

Apparently, it is possible and FWD Life is showing Filipinos how they can be healthier and fitter pursue their passions and live the life they dream of.

To encourage more Filipinos to start living a healthy lifestyle, FWD Life recently launched a health and wellness movement aptly called Live to Move—premised on the idea that attaining better health is key in living life to the fullest.

At the heart of the campaign is the FWD Motion, a specially designed four-minute metabolic fitness (MetaFit) workout which has a health benefit equivalent of up to one-hour exercise. Its four primary steps – jump, squat, push up, and lunge – will encourage Filipinos to get into their exercise gear and start moving. Short, simple, and effective, the four primary steps easily encourage people to work out regardless if they are novice, intermediate or advanced fitness enthusiasts.

FWD Motion is a simple regimen. Its four primary steps can be integrated into daily activities and can be done anywhere, reducing the need to go to the gym or attend a workout class. Having been developed by celebrity fitness coaches Jim and Toni Saret (“The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Season 2,” “Fit Filipino Movement”), who are also the campaign collaborators, it is scientifically-proven to make an individual lose as much as 600 calories, depending on the intensity of execution and number of repetitions.

“FWD encourages Filipinos to be healthier through the Live To Move movement and it matches perfectly with our advocacy. Through Live To Move and the FWD Motion, we are able to motivate people to start moving in as short as four minutes only, so they can live better and healthier lives,” said Coach Jim Saret.

Coaches Jim and Toni Saret are also healthy lifestyle ambassadors of the Philippine Heart Association (PHA), the official advocacy partner of Live To Move. FWD Life supports PHA’s 52100 advocacy, a simple guide to remind people of the essentials of good health, with each number representing a daily target: five (5) servings of fruits and vegetables, two (2) hours maximum recreational screen time, one (1) hour of moderate activity, zero (0) sugared drinks, and zero (0) smoking/secondhand smoke.
“This partnership enables PHA to further promote public awareness on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We are also grateful that through Live To Move, FWD is able to support our 52100 advocacy which encourages Filipinos to adopt simple heart-friendly daily habits,” said Dr. Alex Junia, Philippine Heart Association President.

The campaign started with the FWD Motion online video challenge wherein participants post their workout videos featuring their passions and their variations to the four primary steps. It continues with the Live To Move Tour, a series of health and wellness-themed pocket events around Metro Manila which includes group activities called Move to the Beat (Hip Hop), Move to the Groove (Zumba), Move to Fight (boxing and cardio), and Move to the FWD Motion (MetaFit). It will culminate on October 24 with the Live To Move Grand Festival where participants will enjoy exciting activities and rewards in surrounding booths for free medical consultation, cooking sessions, group workouts, and a free-for-all wellness concert.

Campaign participants are entitled to raffle entries which give them the chance to win exciting lifestyle gadgets during the tour and the grand festival.

“We have established Live To Move as a platform and the FWD Motion as a key workout routine to encourage Filipinos to start living a healthy lifestyle so they can pursue their passions. We are committed to lead the cause for Filipinos’ health and wellness in the life insurance industry, since we strongly believe in the benefits of living a healthy and more active life,” said FWD Life President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Grimes.
